What to expect

We offer comprehensive information about the process and bulk-bill your appointments. Additionally, we provide nutritional support, compression garments, wound dressings, and ongoing access to the doctor for follow-up as needed, ensuring a smooth and speedy recovery.

To streamline the process, it is best to obtain a referral and a summary of any relevant medical history or conditions. However, the referral is not mandatory, as Dr. Keeley can provide one if needed.

Please note that payment for your surgery is required to secure the operating theatre and cover the costs of other specialists involved, such as the anaesthetist and surgical assistant.

You will be admitted on the day of surgery and the length of your hospital stay, as well as the level of post-operative care, will vary depending on the complexity of the procedure.

Recovery times can vary, ranging from a relatively quick and straightforward process after an arm lipectomy to a longer recovery following more complex procedures like a tummy tuck or lower body lift. However, in most cases, recovery is generally smooth. While multiple follow-up appointments may be necessary to monitor your progress, most patients are able to begin walking shortly after surgery and resume a basic routine within a couple of weeks.

If you have adequate insurance coverage, your hospital fees will typically be fully covered. However, if you are not insured, we strongly recommend joining a health fund. This ensures that any unexpected illnesses, whether related or unrelated to your surgery, can be treated at the health fund’s rates in a private hospital, which minimises the impact on your recent cosmetic procedure.

A referral letter from your doctor is desirable. This ensures that your doctor is informed about your planned surgery and can advise us of any additional health concerns. It also allows us to offer bulk-billed health consultations. However, if obtaining the referral letter in time is difficult, we can book an appointment for you with Dr. Keeley. Dr. Keeley can conduct the necessary medical assessment and organise the referral. This consultation is also bulk-billed.
