Dr Oliver Florica FRACS
Dr Oliver Florica is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with over 35 years of surgical experience across three continents. He is one of Sydney's most experienced body contouring and reconstructive surgeons.
Dr Florica graduated from Carol Davila Medical University in Bucharest (top 10% of 450 students) before completing advanced surgical training in South Africa — including trauma, cardiac, and general surgery at Groote Schuur and Baragwanath Hospitals. He then undertook comprehensive general surgery training across Australia's leading hospitals, including the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Hobart Hospital, and Launceston General Hospital, earning his FRACS in 2002.
His pursuit of surgical excellence has taken him worldwide — completing a Fellowship in Robotic Surgery in New Delhi with Da Vinci certification in San Francisco (the first surgeon in Australia accredited for robotic surgery), and two Diplomas in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg, France. In 2026 he completed advanced training in complex biliary surgery at IRCAD Strasbourg.
Dr Florica's body contouring work focuses on post-weight loss transformation — combining procedures such as circumferential abdominoplasty, thigh and arm lipectomy to comprehensively reshape the body. His extensive abdominal surgery background, spanning bariatric, gastrointestinal, and complex laparoscopic procedures, gives him a rare depth of surgical expertise for these operations.
Based at the Parkway San Clinic in Wahroonga, Dr Florica operates at Sydney Adventist Hospital and Delmar Private Hospital — both fully accredited for complex body contouring surgery. He has been an Accredited Medical Officer at Sydney Adventist Hospital since 2003.
